Thanks to this education and practice, Shea has become recognized as a strength coach capable of preparing the highest caliber of athletes.  Through sound training practices, proper nutritional education, and the experience/knowledge to take the guesswork out of strength and conditioning, “Coach Shea” has amassed a reputation as one of the best Strength and Conditioning coaches in the Metrowest area. His clients have included numerous professional, college, high school and middle school athletes, business executives, ironmen, metro west SWAT, military personnel, state and local police and firefighters, as well as more than 26 local high schools, club, and college teams.

At APECS, Shea has overseen the strength and conditioning of 2 Super Bowl Teams, Multiple Lacrosse State Title Teams, League Champion Teams in each of the major high school sports, state titlists in wrestling, tennis, and swimming, MVP’s of State or League in Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Lacrosse, Football, Wrestling, Hockey, and Volleyball.  Sought after by coaches and personal trainers, rehabilitation patients and practitioners, and hundreds of body conscious individuals looking to achieve greater  levels of health,  fitness, and human performance, Shea has built this reputation over his 14 years as a strength and conditioning coach.

Along with his role as Head Strength Coach at APECS, Shea is also an Adjunct Professor in the Sport Fitness department at Dean College teaching the practical application of the science of weight training. This role has grown into a position as the Strength Coach to the highly successful Dean College Football and Soccer Teams.  Shea continues to live by his mantra “if you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse” by authoring numerous articles, feature stories in the Boston Globe, and  lectures to colleges, corporations, and high schools on various strength and conditioning topics, as well as authoring a couple of books along the way. With his passion for the industry and persistence for improvement shared by the rest of the APECS team, it is no wonder APECS has become recognized as one of the best strength and conditioning centers around.  In his private time, Shea is a tried and true family man and enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Wendy and their pride and joy… their son Ayden.

 Michael Regan

Strength & Conditioning Coach

M.S., NSCA CSCS

Mike has been involved in competitive athletics for most of his life.  Whether playing, coaching, or training, he believes in the value of athletics and competition for strengthening both body and mind.

As a former college football coach (one year), high school coach (ten years head football, two years assistant hockey), a middle/high school teacher for the last 12 years, and a member of the APECS staff since 2006, Mike has spent most of his post-college life teaching in some respect or another.  However, Mike sees himself as a "learner" as much as a teacher.  In his time at APECS working with owner Jason Shea, Mike says, "I have learned more here, in a short time, about training than I did in all of my previous experience combined."

At APECS, Mike works with many area high school and college athletes, teams, including football, hockey, and soccer, as well as middle school aged camps and athletes.  He thoroughly enjoys what he does and takes pride in watching the athletic growth of those he works with.

When not at work Mike is spending his time with his beautiful family, wife Jane and their children Matt, Jeff, Shannon, John, and Bridget.
