Tired of not getting the body composition results you desire? So are we!

How many times have you walked into the gym to see the same people, performing the same exercises, with the same weight, for the same amount of reps, then 20-30- minutes of cardio every time they are in the gym?  Did you notice that they still, well, look the same? Whether the goal is gaining lean muscle tissue, loss of weight or body fat or even… oh, no, don’t say it……spot reduction (it does exist through regulation of hormone ratios with proper supportive nutritional intervention strategies.)  What these individuals may have gained from these “pattern overload” routines is an increase in chronic shoulder, elbow, knee, or back pain, increased body fat percentage (long distance cardio increases cortisol which in turn signals the body to store fat around the umbilical region),  and a decrease adherence/motivation.

If you can relate to this, perhaps it is time for a change. Whether it be correction/perfection of exercise technique, alteration of training perimeters (sets, reps, tempo, exercise selection, exercise sequence, rest intervals etc) or a scientific approach to program design or nutritional intervention, BodyOPS may be the change you need.

BodyOPS is based on the premise that every individual is different, but all require the same basic stimulus for healthy living: proper supportive nutrition, fundamentally sound movements and posture, and “healthy” dosages of weight training and cardiovascular exercise.  With this approach your body will feel better, move better, and function better.

BodyOPS was created for the individual looking for sustainable body composition results, unlike those found in the latest dietary craze book or supplement bottle at the checkout line of Walgreens.  Its foundation lies on normal balance/regulation through proper nutrition, rest/recovery, training, and avoidance of stressors (physical and mental) which may lead to adrenal fatigue, injuries, and fat accumulation.  With the correct exercises, in the right dosage (at the right times) combined with proper supportive nutrition and recovery, BodyOPS will help you to achieve the body composition goals you have been “sweating and starving” so long for.

Upon your initial consultation you will meet with an APECS certified strength coach for a complete body composition screen, which will provide insight into your hormonal profile.  Where you store your body fat has a direct correlation with your normal status.  For example, if you store most of your body fat around your umbilical (belly button) chances are you are stressed (physically, mentally, or both), your cortisol levels may be out of balance when compared with your other major hormones.  Most people will then think that since they have more belly fat that they need to go out and do more cardio.  Well, performing more cardio will only elevate cortisol levels, thus creating a catabolic environment in which chronic pain and injury will creep its way in and lead to a downward spiral of chronic health issues.

The second half of the initial consultation consists of a nutritional analysis by the APECS staff nutritional consultant.  She will analyze your daily energy expenditure (resting metabolism, workout, calorie consumption, and general activity) and provide recommendations based on your individual goals.  Every three weeks you will be required to weigh in at APECS and every two months a body composition screen will be performed to ensure you are adhering to your training and supportive nutrition program while achieving results.

The actual training part of BodyOPS is based on specifically proven training methodologies which have been used to help thousands of fitness enthusiasts achieve their goals of physical health. BodyOPS is a multi-phase, 12-16 week program with one goal in mind: to teach the individual HOW to train, eat, and recover, while benefiting from the actual training journey.  BodyOPS is not a “hook you for life program”; instead it is an educational program in which you will learn to be accountable to one person and one person only: yourself.

Each phase of BodyOPS builds upon the results of the previous phase. According to Pat Riley “If you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse.”  When building a house, you always need to start with a strong foundation.  This sound principle is the essence of BodyOPS.  Without a strong foundation, the rest of the structure is faulty, and will risk crumbling.  Without proper training practices, proper supportive nutrition, and adequate recovery, your structure may also fall, starting from the inside (impaired hormonal profile, adrenal fatigue) and eventually the outside (structural injury, sickness).

Once the structure is secure, movement and activation of muscle fibers become much more efficient.  Muscular length/tension ratios and posture will be corrected leading to less chronic pains, so you will be able to work out harder and more frequently without the risk of injury. Training will become much more pleasurable and results will begin to show, where past training experiences have failed.

If you feel you have not gotten the results you desire from countless hours spent exercising, countless dollars spent on personal training and diet products, or countless amounts of energy wasted on wondering “why these pants don’t fit?”,  then BodyOPS may be the change you are looking for.  For more details, call 508-533-9005 or email Donna Godino at
