APECS youth strength and
conditioning camps offer a unique approach to what can often be an
intimidating and potentially dangerous learning process. By
utilizing proven training methods, cutting edge equipment, combined
with the best educational instruction into the world of strength and
conditioning, you can expect your child to reap the reward of proper
training. While remaining completely safe under the watchful eyes of
our certified strength coaches, the concern for learning improper
and potentially harmful training techniques is eliminated. Through
the use of our performance software, your child’s progress will be
tracked and charted to ensure results are achieved.
Upon a complete postural and
performance evaluation, athletes are taken through APECS trademark
multi-stage progressive training system. In the first stage the
groundwork is set with proper movement mechanics progressions and
general physical preparation training. As movement becomes more
efficient, increases in strength, speed, power, and agility are soon
to follow.
The athlete is then progressed
to beginner strength and functional movement training. Here is where
our certified strength and conditioning specialists teach basic
strength training technique. To ensure safety and muscle balance
functional movements including unstable and stable environments,
unilateral and bilateral limb training, and multi-dimensional
movements are utilized. Once strength and functionality are
achieved, then proper force absorption and generation techniques are
taught.
The term strength and
conditioning would not be complete without the “conditioning” aspect
of training. In final preparation for the up-coming athletic season,
sport specific metabolic conditioning begins. Athletes are taught to
train specific energy systems according to the demands of their
individual sports. Here the adage, “if you want to train for a
marathon, then run. If you want to train for sprint sports, then
sprint” holds purpose. The last day of camp is a testing day, in
which the same battery of tests from the first day are administered
and results are put together to complete your athlete’s performance
profile.
Through the training of
hundreds of local athletes at our strength and conditioning camps,
APECS has set a standard with its safe environment, knowledgeable
staff, and unparalleled service, all to help the student athletes of
today, reach their potential for athletic achievement
tomorrow.
